Kevin Baker // Marvel Studios VisionQuest , the trippy new Marvel series on Disney+, completes the trilogy that started with WandaVision in 2021 and continued with Agatha All Along in 2024. This time, it’s all about the pater familias of this weird supernatural family: Vision. What’s a robot who lost the family he technically never had to begin with, to do? Before you jump into the story, meet the cast and characters of VisionQuest .
In the show, we quickly learn that Vision has created a mind palace where he hangs out with the avatars of Tony Stark’s other artificial intelligence programs. You’ve heard all of their names before in other Marvel movies (and one Marvel show) but have not seen them like this. Below, I’ll jog your memory so you don’t have to hit pause or feel the need to do any pre- VisionQuest “homework” or anything.
One recurring actress on VisionQuest, who’s very random in a fun way, is Diane Morgan as “the Handler.” That’s Philomena Cunk in the MCU, y’all! But a couple of the other minor characters are spoilers, so we won’t get too deep into them here.
Vision in this series is an android built by S.W.O.R.D. with all of his former Avenger prototype’s memories but none of his feelings. If you remember the end of WandaVision , he’s also known as “White Vision.”
Previous MCU Appearances: As a few versions of the superhero android in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and WandaVision.
Outside of the many characters he’s played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Paul Bettany is known for films and television shows such as Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World , A Knight’s Tale, The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind, Wimbledon, Solo: A Star Wars Story, the miniseries Amadeus , Manhunt , and A Very British Scandal .
Ultron is an evil AI, created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, who tried to take over the world and end humanity.
Previous MCU Appearances: As the Pinocchio -reference-loving robot in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
James Spader became a television mainstay with shows like The Blacklist, Boston Legal, The Practice , and even The Office . But he’s also a member of the Brat Pack and known for movies like Pretty in Pink, Baby Boom, True Colors, Sex Lies & Videotape, Crash, Secretary, and so much more.
Ruaridh Mollica plays Tommy Maximoff / Thomas Shepherd
Tommy Maximoff a.k.a. Speed is one of two children that Wanda created in the hex. Just like his uncle, he’s a speedster. His twin brother Billy, whose consciousness flew into a dying teen named William Kaplan, used his magic to put Tommy’s conscious into the dying Thomas Shepherd at the end of Agatha All Along .
Previous MCU Appearances: As a Maximoff child in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Ruaridh Mollica’s first film was the underrated musical Sunshine on Leith. Some of his television credits prior to VisionQuest include The Jetty, Ridley, The Franchise, and Witness No 3. Just to keep things interesting, in 2025 Ruaridh did a play called Clarkston on the West End with Joe Locke, who of course plays Billy Maximoff in the MCU.
Paladin is a bounty hunter searching for the Vision based on the Marvel comics character.
Todd Stashwick is a working actor best known for 12 Monkeys, Star Trek: Picard, The Riches, The Originals, and Heroes . He’s also a voice actor on a lot of animated shows and video games.
Jocasta is a new android on the block based on the Marvel comics character.
T’Nia Miller played the tragically romantic Hannah Grose on The Haunting of Bly Manor . She returned to the Flana-clan in The Fall of the House of Usher . Miller’s other television shows include Gangs of London, The Peripheral, Sex Education, La Fortuna, Witless, and Marcella .
Lisa is Thomas’s partner in crime and friendship from juvenile detention, based on the Marvel comics character.
Lauren Morais is a Welsh actress whose previous credits include Mudtown, The Crow Girl, and The Red Queen .
F.R.I.D.A.Y. is one of the AIs in Vision’s mind palace. She mainly focuses on socialization AI, humor, and tactical ops.
Previous MCU Appearances: As Tony Stark’s alternate AI assistant, voiced by Kerry Condon, who takes over after Ultron “kills” J.A.R.V.I.S. in the later films Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Orla Brady is an Irish actress you might know from shows like Star Trek: Picard, Bosch: Legacy, Into the Badlands, Fringe, and Family Law. Her film credits include The Foreigner, Freud’s Last Session, Collateral, and as Cathy in the 1998 release of Wuthering Heights .
D.U.M.-E is one of the AIs in Vision’s mind palace. He is a general maintenance AI whose focus is limb servo control and fire suppression.

Henry Lewis is a British playwright and comedian who co-founded the company Mischief Theatre, which is responsible for The Play That Goes Wrong and all of its slapstick live action spin-offs on the London and New York stage. He has also written several books and co-hosts the quiz show Riddiculous .
U is one of the AIs in Vision’s mind palace. He is a general maintenance AI whose focus is defragging and video analyzing.

Jonathan Sayer is a British playwright and comedian and one of the other three co-founders of Mischief Theatre. You can see him in the televised A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong , and The Goes Wrong Show .
E.D.I.T.H. is one of the AIs in Vision’s mind palace. She focuses on recreational AI, game theory, and weapons. She is also known to be the “fun” one.
Previous MCU Appearances: As the augmented reality and defense system glasses, voiced by Dawn Michelle King, that Tony Stark bequeathed to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Emily Hampshire is best known for playing Stevie on Schitt’s Creek . Next year you’ll almost certainly see her in the second season of Heated Rivalry. You may have also seen her on shows like Slo Pitch, Chapelwaite, 12 Monkeys, and Rookie Blue or in films like Cosmopolis, Boy Meets Girl, Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, Mother! and Laurence, Anyway.
J.A.R.V.I.S. is one of the AIs in Vision’s mind palace. He is a security AI who is also in charge of housekeeping and encryption.
Previous MCU Appearances: As Tony Stark’s AI assistant, voiced by Bettany, in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, and Iron Man 3. And as Howard Stark’s human butler Edwin Jarvis, also played by D’Arcy, in Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame .
James D'Arcy was a series regular on Constellation, Leonardo, the second season of Broadchurch, Those Who Kill, and The Secret Diary of a Call Girl . He had a recurring role on Homeland as well. His film credits include Oppenheimer, Dunkirk, Jupiter Ascending, Cloud Atlas, The Snowman, and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World .
