Jackson Browne has shared the sad news that his son — actor, model, and musician Ethan Browne — died at 52.

"It is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away," the "Somebody's Baby" singer announced Wednesday on social media. "We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time. No further details are available at this moment."

The younger Browne's mother married the singer in 1975. She died by suicide when Ethan was a baby in March 1976.

Ethan Browne's first taste of being a celebrity himself came in 1974, when, at just six-months-old, he appeared alongside his father on the cover of *Rolling Stone*.

His IMDb page lists several acting credits, including the 2004 Kate Hudson movie *Raising Helen*; 1995's *Hackers*, with Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller; as well as one episode of WB TV series *Birds of Prey*, a *Batman* spinoff, in 2002.

Ethan Browne modeled for designers including Isaac Mizrahi, per PEOPLE, who cited Mark Ronson's 2025 book, *Night People*. Ronson wrote that Ethan was "the real deal — with an angular face and soulful gaze that seemed to reveal his deepest truths, even from a glossy page."

Jackson Browne, who's also the father of son Ryan, 43, whom he shares with ex-wife Lynne Sweeney, has been open about how seriously he takes fatherhood.

"Love of our children motivates us to work hard for a future where they'll be safe and nurtured and will flourish. You know, I tried. But I think I could have done a lot better — I have lots of regrets," he told told AARP in April 2021. "It's very difficult to divide your time between the imperatives of a creative life and the awesome responsibility of guiding and caring for the life of a child. And some of the small mistakes are the most difficult to rectify — a seemingly little mistake, but a wrong turn. I don't want to unpack them here, but I'll just say that my relationships with my two boys are the most important relationships I have."

Browne explained that becoming a better parent was an ongoing process.

"I've been through years of self-examination about my role as a parent, and I tend to think that the measure of your love is the degree to which you continue to try," he said. "You never stop being a parent."**

He took pride in the fact that his son was a good dad.

"Ethan is a great father. He's a great son, a great man," Browne said in a 2022 interview with Tru Rock Revival. "I love seeing him with his kids. When I see him in his movies, modeling, with his daughter, and being such a great dad, it makes me very proud. It makes me feel I've done something really right in my life."**
