Pop icon Celine Dion has shared a sobering message with her fans this holiday season.
Amid her life with stiff-person syndrome, which she was first diagnosed with in 2022 amid the cancellation of her world tour, the 57-year-old Canadian singer shared a video address on Thursday urging her supporters to take stock of their good fortune this Thanksgiving.**
"Dear friends, today is a beautiful reminder to slow down, take a deep breath, and give thanks," Dion said in the emotional clip, which she posted to Instagram.
"There's something so powerful about gathering with the people you love, whether around the full table, over the phone, or even just in your heart," she added in the video, which was shared nearly 10 years after she lost her husband, René Angélil, to throat cancer in 2016.

In the clip, which she filmed while seated on a cream-colored sofa, Dion also expressed gratitude for the people in her life.
"I'm so thankful to my family and our moments together that mean the world to me," she said. "May your Thanksgiving be filled with joy, with peace, and with gratitude for everything, even the little things."
Dion finished the video with a holiday tiding for fans.
"Happy Thanksgiving, from me and my family, to you and yours," the entertainer concluded.

Dion was first diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022, which is described as a neurological condition that causes "severe muscle stiffness in the back, legs and sometimes other parts of the body," per Mayo Clinic.
The "Power of Love" and "My Heart Will Go On" performer was forced to cancel her *Courage* world tour following the diagnosis, which previously resulted in postponing several concert dates over her health.
"I'm so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I'm working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you're 100 percent. It's not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it's best that we cancel everything now until I'm really ready to be back on stage again," Dion wrote in a statement at the time. "I want you all to know, I'm not giving up, and I can't wait to see you again!"
Dion's sister, Claudette, later told Canadian outlet 7 Jours that her sister "doesn't have control over her muscles" at times. "There are some who have lost hope because it is a disease that is not [very well] known," she added. "What pains me is that she has always been disciplined. She's always worked hard. Our mother always told her, 'You're going to do it well, you're going to do it properly.'"

The singer eventually made a highly publicized onstage comeback at the 2024 Grammys, where she appeared at the end of the ceremony to present the Album of the Year award.
"Thank you all," Dion said during the surprise moment. "I love you right back. When I say that I'm happy to be here, I really mean it from my heart. Those who have been blessed enough to be here at the Grammy Awards must never take for granted the tremendous love and joy that music brings to our lives and to people all around the world."
