Bennifer is eternal.
The enduringly magnetic on-again, off-again power couple comprised of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited a year after their divorce at the premiere of the former's big new film, *Kiss of the Spider Woman*. The original Ben and Jen smiled with genuine warmth for the cameras at Monday's New York City bow of the glossy musical.
Affleck showing up to support his fiancée–turned–ex–turned–wife–turned–ex wasn't purely personal, however; he executive produced the film via Artists Equity, the production company he runs with lifelong pal Matt Damon. Still, Lopez thanked Affleck specifically during her pre-screening introduction, per PEOPLE: "Thank you, Ben. This movie wouldn't have been made without Ben and without Artist Equity."

Affleck returned the love that evening during a red carpet interview with Extra, saying that in *Kiss of the Spider Woman*, Lopez found "the role that she was born to play."
"She's amazing in this movie, I just can't wait for audiences to see this movie," he continued, adding, "It was obvious to me very early on, with Jennifer's involvement in this, that she was going to die or be great. She was just going to give it her all. She worked enormously hard, and in this role, you get to see all of her many gifts."****

Affleck and Lopez first met in 2002 on the set of their film *Gigli*. They were engaged by year's end, and broken up by the start of 2004. Over the following decade and a half they remained friends, but the fellow feeling grew deeper and more substantial, leading to a romantic rekindling in 2021. They were engaged again the year after, married a few months later, and filed for divorce last August.

*Kiss of the Spider Woman* is only the seventh film Affleck and Damon have helped usher into the world via Artists Equity. Directed by Bill Condon, the film is an adaptation of the 1992 musical by Terrence McNally, itself an adaptation of the 1976 play by Manuel Puig. *Kiss of the Spider Woman *already received the big-screen treatment in 1985, with Brazilian icon Sônia Braga in the triple role of Ingrid Luna/Aurora/The Spider Woman that Lopez plays in the 2025 version.
Condon told * *in September that he felt Lopez was a perfect fit for the film due to "the fact that she is a contemporary diva in a world that doesn't have many, that's what this version needed... And someone who could inhabit the world of '40s and '50s Hollywood musicals in a way that you really believe. There aren't too many people who could do that."********
