- Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been together since 2023.

- The couple announced their engagement on Aug. 26, 2025.

- Multiple songs on Swift's latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*,* *are likely inspired by the NFL star.

August was a *big *month for Taylor Swift. Not only did she announce her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, but she also revealed that her 12th studio album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, would debut on Oct. 3, 2025.

Now, the wait is finally over. Swifties everywhere are diving into the album, eager to replay each track, decode the many Easter eggs, and uncover the references to her future husband.

Given the singer's history of weaving her personal life into her music, it's no wonder Swifties believe her relationship with Kelce has inspired more than a few lyrics. Some songs on her 2024 double album, *The Tortured Poets Department* (and its companion, *The Anthology*), sparked plenty of speculation that her fiancé inspires some of the lyrics. And now, *The Life of a Showgirl *seems packed with even more nods to the Super Bowl champ.

So, which Swift songs might be about Kelce? Read on for **'s complete guide to every track fans think pays tribute to her beau.

"The Fate of Ophelia"

"The Fate of Ophelia" opens *The Life of a Showgirl* with a reimagining of William Shakespeare's tragic character in *Hamlet*. Instead of drowning, Swift sings of being saved by a new love (presumably Kelce).

"And if you'd never come for me / I might've drowned in the melancholy / I swore my loyalty to me, myself and I / Right before you lit my sky up," she sings.

Now, the connection to Kelce is clear. "I heard you calling / On the megaphone / You wanna see me all alone" is a possible nod to Kelce revealing on a July 2023 episode of his *New Heights* podcast that he attempted (and failed) to give the singer his phone number during her Eras Tour.

Other clues include "Keep it 100" (a reference to Kelce's Instagram caption and "Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes," a direct wink at the Chiefs (and at him).

"Elizabeth Taylor"

Track No. 2, "Elizabeth Taylor," is an ode to the legendary actress and the toll fame can take on romance. While much of the song centers on Swift's public image, she manages to squeeze in a few lines that praise her man.

"All the right guys promised they'd stay / Under bright lights, they withered away / But you bloom," she sings. This suggests that, unlike the men who couldn't handle Swift's spotlight, Kelce seems to thrive in it, giving her hope that they will go the distance.

Next up is "Opalite," Kelce's favorite song off *TLOASG* (and one that's unmistakably about him). Although Swift doesn't name him directly, the lyrics paint a clear story of finding lasting love and happiness after plenty of heartbreak.

"You were dancing through the lightning strikes / Sleepless in the onyx night / But now the sky is opalite / Oh, my Lord / Never made no one likе you before," Swift sings.

Swift subtly confirmed the inspiration behind the track during a recent interview on the U.K.'s *Capital Breakfast *radio show, revealing that Kelce's birthstone is opal.

"I had written down the word opalite because I learned that it's actually a man-made opal. Like opal can be man-made, just like diamonds," she explained. "And Travis's birthstone is an opal, so I've always fixated on that. I've always loved that stone, and I thought it was a kind of a cool metaphor that it's a man-made opal and happiness can also be man-made too."

"Eldest Daughter"

Many interpret "Eldest Daughter" as Swift discussing the pressure and responsibility that comes with being the oldest sibling, but there are also elements that allude to Kelce.

One lyric in particular, "When you found me, I said I was busy / That was a lie," is thought to be a call back to when Kelce initially failed to meet her during the Eras Tour.

The chorus offers more evidence, with Swift promising, "I'm never gonna let you down / I'm never gonna leave you out." For fans reading between the lines, this track is about the weight of being the eldest daughter, but also about finally finding someone (a.k.a. Kelce) she can rely on.

Swift looks to the future in "Wi$h Li$t," a track widely interpreted as a love letter to Kelce. The singer opens by insisting she's willing to trade the "yacht life" and "bright lights" for a quieter life with her husband-to-be.

"I just want you / Have a couple kids, got the whole block lookin' like you," she sings. "We tell the world to leave us the f— alone and they do, wow / Got me dreaming 'bout a driveway with a basketball hoop / Boss up, settle down."

In the bridge, Swift continues, "I made wishes on all of the stars / Please, God, bring me a best friend who I think is hot / I thought I had it right, once, twice, but I did not / You caught me off my guard."

During an Oct. 3 appearance on the U.K.'s *Heart Radio*, Swift revealed that "Wi$h Li$t" is one of her favorite songs off *TLOASG*.  "It's a really dreamy song. It's a really romantic song," Swift said.

She added, "It details all these different things that people aspire to have in their lives, and all the wishes that people are making all over the world of things in their lifestyle or things they want to buy or places they want to go … and then in the chorus it talks about what mine would be, and I'm just really into that one."

"Wood"

Perhaps the most obvious Kelce reference on *TLOASG* comes in "Wood," Swift's most sexually explicit track to date.

The song is packed with innuendos and bold humor, and marks a significant shift in Swift's romantic outlook as she's no longer relying on superstition or wishing for love. With Kelce, she's confident and clearly having fun. What's more, the lyric "New Heights of manhood" references Kelce's podcast.

"It's you and me forever, dancing in the dark / All over me, it's understood / I ain't got to knock on wood," Swift sings about her trust in this relationship. "Forgive me, it sounds cocky / He ah-matized me and opened my eyes / Redwood tree, it ain't hard to see / His love was the key that opened my thighs."

Swift also seemingly predicted their engagement here, singing, "Girls, I don't need to catch the bouquet, mm, to know a hard rock is on the way."

"Honey"

Swift told *Capital Breakfast *that *TLOASG* reflects "exactly where I am at in my life," and that's more apparent than ever on track 11, "Honey."

The song opens with Swift saying pet names like "sweetheart" and "honey" once felt patronizing or hollow, until "you" (Kelce) gave them a new meaning. "But you touched my face / Redefined all of those blues / When you say 'honey,'" she sings.

The love song is rooted in Swift's connection with Kelce, with lyrics like, "You can call me 'honey' if you want because I'm the one you want / … Give it a different meaning 'cause you mean it when you talk / Honey, I'm home, we could play house / We can bed down, pick me up / Who's the baddest in the land? What's the plan? (What's the plan?) / You could be my forever night stand."

Later, she sings, "When anyone called me 'lovely' / They were finding ways not to praise me / But you say it like you're in awe of me / And you stay until the morning."

"The Alchemy"

Many fans assume the bulk of Swift's *TTPD* is about 1975 frontman Matty Healy, but she also seems to highlight a new, significant love in her life. One standout track, "The Alchemy," is widely believed to reference Kelce.

The song's lyrics blend themes of unbreakable love with overt football imagery that perfectly align with Kelce's world.

Lines like "So when I touch down / Call the amateurs and cut 'em from the team / Ditch the clowns, get the crown / Baby, I'm the one to beat" evoke both romantic confidence and clear sports metaphors, bringing to mind her powerhouse partnership with Kelce.

Later on in the track, Taylor sings, "These blokes warm the benches / We've been on a winning streak," a potential nod to her fiancé's fierce competitiveness and success in professional sports and beyond.

The bridge is perhaps the most striking wink: "Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads / Beer stickin' to the floor, cheers chanted 'cause they said / 'There was no chance tryna be the greatest in the league' / Where's the trophy? He just comes, running over to me."

This charmed imagery aligns closely with Kelce's triumphant moment at Super Bowl LVIII, where he celebrated the Chiefs' victory against the San Francisco 49ers and reunited with Swift on the field.

Put it all together, and "The Alchemy" arguably isn't just a love song; it's a not-so-subtle tribute to her personal MVP.

"So High School"

Swift's nostalgic track "So High School" is a love letter to that dizzy, butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling of young love — and fans are convinced it's about Kelce.

Right from the start, Swift sets the scene with teen heartthrob vibes:  "I feel so high school every time I look at you / I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you."

Swifties have even picked up on the line about a romance blooming "in the blink of a crinkling eye," believing it's a cheeky nod to Kelce's eye crinkles that appear when he flashes his trademark smile.

In the chorus, Swift sings about "fingers entwined" and "cheeks pink in the twinkling lights," which could reference the glowing stadium lights at her concerts and Chiefs games. It's those small shared moments that make the song feel personal and intimate.

One lyric has Swift wondering, "Are you gonna marry, kiss, or kill me / It's just a game, but really / I'm bettin' on all three for us two." This is likely a playful callback to a 2016 interview where Kelce played "Kiss, Marry, Kill" and famously said he'd kiss Swift when asked to choose between her, Ariana Grande, and Katy Perry.

Swift also hints at Kelce's gentlemanly side with "Get my car door, isn't that sweet? / Then pull me to the backsеat / No one's evеr had me, not like you." Fans connected this to a viral moment when Kelce helped her out of a car in New York.

The track also contrasts their respective fields with lyrics like, "Truth, dare, spin bottles / You know how to ball, I know Aristotle," highlighting Kelce's football career and Swift's poetic lifestyle. She even called back to this characterization in their engagement post, which dubs her the "English teacher" and him the "gym teacher."
