Marvel's homegrown New York heroes are about to meet again.
** has learned that *Daredevil: Born Again* season 2 will connect with Tom Holland's upcoming *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*.
Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum revealed the news in an exclusive interview with EW at New York Comic Con on Thursday.
"We are communicating a lot with the team on *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* to make sure that there's coherence there," Winderbaum says. "We don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world and it is important."
While the exec wouldn't share specific plot details about how the two projects will connect, he clarified that the Disney+ TV series and Sony feature film will each continue to have their own unique tones and stories.
"We're in a shared universe together, but I would say just the *Daredevil* comic books, the *Punisher* comic books depicted a certain tone and an idea of New York in a different way than *Spider-Man*'s, but they both exist in the same universe," Winderbaum says. "It's similar. Everything lines up and the impacts are felt, but we're able to tell different stories."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has already delivered an exciting crossover between Spider-Man a.k.a. Peter Parker (Holland) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in S*pider-Man: No Way Home*. When Peter needed a lawyer after his secret identity was exposed to the world, he hired Matt Murdock, who used both his legal and vigilante superpowers to help protect the young hero. His explanation to Peter for how he caught a flying brick as a blind man, however, could use some work — sure, he's just "a really good lawyer," but Peter could also tell he's something *more*.

*Daredevil: Born Again* debuted in March of this year on Disney+, reviving characters and story from Netflix's original *Daredevil*, which starred Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio and ran for three seasons from 2015-2018. The first season of *Daredevil: Born Again *picked up years later, with Cox's titular blind lawyer vigilante battling D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, who became mayor of New York and used his power for — what else? — evil.
The brutal season 1 finale saw Fisk take over the city's government, lock away anyone he deemed a threat to his power in a secret prison, installed his own force of corrupt cops acting under his control, outlawed vigilantism, and declared martial law. Matt teamed up with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), who ultimately got caught but, of course, escaped his prison — setting up Bernthal's standalone Punisher TV special for Disney+ as well as season 2, which finished filming this summer. The series has already been renewed for a third season.

Meanwhile, Holland's next *Spider-Man* movie, the fourth entry in Sony's* *franchise, is directed by *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings*' Destin Daniel Cretton. The film picks up after *No Way Home *ended on a massive reset for the titular web-slinging Peter Parker (Holland), as he was erased from everyone's minds, including his friends and loved ones.

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will reprise their roles as MJ and Ned, respectively, with Bernthal starring as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Michael Mando as the Scorpion, and *Stranger Things*' Sadie Sink in an undisclosed role.
Production was recently paused for a week after Holland suffered a concussion on set. The actor was rushed to a nearby hospital after a stunt went wrong, and was cleared shortly after receiving treatment. No one else was injured.
*Spider-Man: Brand New Day *began production in Glasgow last month, and is slated to swing into theaters July 31, 2026.
